Hi, I'm Analisa!
I’m a professional networker and ecosystem developer.
I landed my first internship at the U.S. Commercial Service through a college Facebook group. A former intern was looking for someone to replace them. We met for coffee, they referred me, and I got the job. The process was effortless and the introduction taught me the power of relationships to open doors.
After that I tried applying for jobs through LinkedIn and quickly became frustrated. I'd spend hours on an application without hearing anything back. I felt like a needle in a haystack and it was hugely demoralizing.
So, I decided to create my own luck and turned to old-school networking to find my next role. This turned out to be hugely effective much more fun and easy. Instead of trying to make myself fit to the mold of what someone else wanted, I led with my value. I got clear on where I wanted to work, the kind of role I wanted, and then negotiated my way from there.
When I started my own business, I used the same strategies. I envisioned my dream clients and then approached them to work with me. I also developed centers of influence to create a strong referral pipeline.
There have been so many days where I wake up to a new client intro, speaking opportunity, or invitation that came through because my network had me top of mind. They are my eyes and ears working for me even while I sleep. As a solo-preneur, this has made my life a lot easier. It's cheapest sales strategy I've ever encountered!
Today, I work as an ecosystem developer, connecting the right stakeholders to unlock transformation and seed innovation. Through hosting the Future Food Podcast, I have interviewed more than 150 leaders and built relationships with executives, entrepreneurs, investors, farmers, and changemakers across the global food system.
Strategic networking has helped me create a career and business I love. The relationships I have invested in continue to compound and pay dividends over time. These connections have happened at conferences, on LinkedIn, through friends and family, and even strangers who heard my story and thought of someone I should know. Sometimes an introduction created an immediate opportunity. Other times, someone remembered me months or years later.
Nothing beats having people who understand what you are creating and are genuinely invested in helping you succeed.
